How to setup an upselling journey?
Upsell by AMP offers you a wide variety of placements to create end-to-end upselling offers across the customer's onsite journey.
- Product page Embedded. Frequently Bought Together and Volume Discounts.
- Product page Pop-up. Classic upsells and Upgrade and Save.
- In our slide cart.
- Checkout page (Only available for Shopify Plus)
- Post-purchase
- Thank you page
- Order status page
You can choose all these touchpoints or select just a few of them, whatever best serves your strategy.
If a product is not showing in your Journey, you might want to check that the product has not been excluded.
To create your upsells or what we call Journeys, you can watch our video guide or follow the step-by-step indications that you will find below.
Let's get started!
- Go to the Journeys tab on the left bar of the app's dashboard.
- Click on +Create New Journey and add a name to your Journey (this will help you to identify your upsell offers later on).
- You can create conditional rules to trigger your Journeys if you want to. We offer you multiple rules and combinations that you can use to fit your needs.
- Pick and add offers to the placements where you want to show upsells.
The Preview option shows you how the upsell will look in your store, while the option Placement Overrides lets you set specific/custom titles/headers/announcements for the particular Journey (You can see the default titles/headers for all Journeys in the Placements tab).
The settings icon on the right of the offer row will show you more available options, like skipping the upsell if the item is already in the cart and adding discounts.
- Lastly, make the campaign ACTIVE and hit SAVE.
For the Journey to show correctly on your store, make sure that the corresponding placement is enabled and correctly set up.
